Hi, I'm Joel. Welcome to my digital garden!
I'm experimenting with sharing parts of my personal Roam graph, where I do most of my knowledge work, trying to understand and create systems that support creative knowledge work, especially ones that are open and sustainable.
Everything is a [work in progress]([[CLM - True creative breakthroughs often take a long time to develop]]), many ideas are probably [wrong in some way]([[CLM - Paths to creative breakthroughs are frequently oblique]]), and I [know more than I have written down here]([[CLM - Substantial portions of knowledge that is critical for innovation are not written down]]), but maybe some can be helpful to you.
Here are some entry points:
[[QUE - What are the mechanisms by which analogies help drive creative breakthroughs?]]
[[CLM - Core attribute (mis)matches mediate the benefits of analogies in real-world, complex problem solving]]
[[QUE - What factors control whether people appropriately benefit from analogies (especially far-field ones) during creative problem solving?]]
[[QUE - Can deep learning really discover analogical representations?]]
[[CLM - Prevailing incentives in academia are bad for science]]
[[QUE - What tension points exist between the goals of diversity and depth of user participation in participatory design?]]
If you're pondering similar Question as I am, and/or have new references or ideas that might connect to one or more of my 🌲 zettels, I'd love to hear from you!
